Martin Marciniak joined Chiesi USA in 2021 as Vice President, Medical Affairs. Dr. Marciniak oversees Chiesi USA’s medical and scientific strategies, including medical communications and reporting, research grant administration, stakeholder engagement and instilling a patient centric mindset throughout the medical affairs organization. He has decades of medical affairs; customer engagement; and value, evidence, and outcomes research leadership experience, including senior leadership roles at GlaxoSmithKline and Eli Lilly & Company. His expertise includes deep knowledge from positions focused on the respiratory, oncology, neuroscience, and cardiovascular therapeutic areas. In addition to his medical affairs leadership background, Dr. Marciniak has extensive expertise in economic and value modeling, and he previously served as a non-voting industry representative to the Medicare Evidence Development & Coverage Advisory Committee for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a board member for the National Pharmaceutical Council Board of Directors and the Editorial Advisory Board for Value and Outcomes Spotlight, a publication of the International Society for Professional Outcomes Research .
Dr. Marciniak is an adjunct assistant professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the University of North Carolina’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Purdue University, a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University, and a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley.
